Graeme has been around horses since his early teens and there is little to do with horses that he has  not encountered and conquered. His first real introduction to the equine athlete was when his parents lived across the road from a trotting stable and Graeme spent every spare moment he had helping out and learning.

Like many trainers before him he had an urge to ride before learning how to train and soon after leaving school took up a job with Peter 'Porky' Graham at Secret Harbour as stable hand and track work rider. It was here that Graeme started honing his horseman skills that would later become his full time career as a horse trainer. Their relationship lasted a solid 8 years before an opportunity became available to work for Kevin Lever as a trackwork rider. After a 2 year stint with Kevin he moved across to Bob Mc Pherson as a trackwork rider before weight started to become a problem and he gave away the dream of becoming a jockey.

The early 90's saw Graeme take out his own training licence and purchase his own 6 acres property at Lark Hill which he set up as a Breaking In and Pre-training establishment. The property backs on to 70 acres of crown land that is used for horse training and this enabled him to train his own string of horses whilst breaking and pre-training for other clients.

Further expansion was necessary as his team started to grow so the an adjoining 6 acres was purchased to allow for his own track and 38 stables with walk in- walk out paddocks plus some larger spelling paddocks. It also includes a water walker, 8 horse walker, treadmill and the Rockingham Beach is close by which Graeme uses extensively for the health and wellbeing of his horses. His property is ideally located across the road from the Lark Hill racecourse which he uses to educate his young horses for raceday and for fast work of the older horses.

His set up has proved to be a winning move with some great successes over the years including: Broadway Belle (Winner - Listed Jungle Dawn Classic), Happy Johnson (Winner - Listed TJ Smith Hcp), Morant (Winner - Listed Challenge Stakes), Dynaliebe (Winner - Listed ATA Stakes), Changing Lanes (Winner of 12 races), Ele Centauri (Winner of 10 races) and most recent winners Talent Show (Winner - Group 2 Perth Cup) and Korenica (Winner of 3 in a row) .

Graeme has earned the reputation of being an astute horseman and prides himself on the close hands-on approach to the horses under his care. He is proud of his results in rejuvenating many gallopers back to winning form once having joined his stable.
